New Skill
04:26
|
|||
a new skill of being interested
took a lot of hard forgetting
and some serious patience
we didn’t know it then, but it was exciting
it had a powdery and fresh silence
a wild, throbbing softness
a dazzling like any information
dazzling in a theater of air
bringing its very best romance
even the ordinary took us by surprise
we knew it then, it was exciting
we ate and ate that fresh silence
it slowed down the world
and we could move everywhere
and look at everything
all defenseless

Very Fantastic
06:51
|
|||
evening light
a gold gush touches us
both the front and the back of the body
very fantastic
his concentration in it, the peeping, the invocation, he said
the baring will happen by itself
very fantastic
the baring happened by itself
the little birds’ feet, the animals’ paws,
hooves and legs lit up in the gold gush
very fantastic
just had to be just perfectly normal
do whatever we wanted
then we would see what would come of it
o we like you evening light
arms, legs and hopes attached to us
a stench of turmoil which we try to rub off on each other
a gold gush that touches us
both the front and the back of the body
very fantastic
chose a battle we figured we could win
wore a dashing and obscene gaze
struck — swooped — open — see —
it’s only us
the sickly-sweet taste in the kiss, the small excuses
make us and take place in the evening light

Like Real Power
06:08
|
|||
we loved on purpose
it’s terribly difficult
things were so interesting we almost fainted
wouldn’t think of gentle or reassuring stuff
wanted a madness worthy of the dread
power like real power
we loved on purpose
it was so interesting
both of us were both of us
and it was a new and expanded loneliness
power like real power
it’s terribly difficult
to take the lies
simply as something impatient that hasn’t happened yet
as if we’re a work aching to be done
a wonderful work just aching to be done
and be done
oh so interesting
to take the loss of face
simply as having a face and seeing
we loved on purpose
with power like real power

Clumsy
05:41
|
|||
clumsy!
we lost our confidence in an old friend
our sense of the significance of this thing
clumsy! we seem to have forgotten
why we loved or how we loved
we lost it though we're quite sure where we put it
that we wrapped it and kept it
never once suffocating it
we let it run real free and let it be really real
let it come to us to be loved like a baby
didn’t we?
well, we seem to have forgotten
how we loved
in a grey and golden
we didn’t have time for any war
we were too busy being holy
it was a work that had to be done
not for someone but by someone
if there was something wonderful
something you could do only once in your life
would you do it now?
later we went to see the exhibit
of the Sunset Ice Cream Truck
and the Burning House
and oh we liked you evening light and so wanted some truth
didn't we?
eavesdropping on him conversing
all smart in cotton button-down
the haircut of an academic and such
markers of identity spoke right
into this desire for his happiness and knowledge
or rather that rare fusion of the two
sometimes we forget a day before it's even over
sometimes we see right through someone and
in panic do nothing

In a Superior Innocence
05:41
|
|||
most proud of how we were gullible
we stumble in a blade of grass
and laugh our unsolvable to elicit us
we lick that blade of grass and understand
everything as a question
and it’is like a joy
on a maggot-white moor
our lashes the length of our skirts, we graze
depth in the newly built, ancient, hovering house
hovering building, the scissors, adeptly
depth in a superior innocence, don’t we deserve?
depth in a superior innocence,
don’t we deserve a small revenge?
don’t we deserve a small deer
holding a small banner in its mouth?
we’re most proud of an unbroken trust
depth in that pride
uh huh it’s splendid on that maggot-white moor
our lashes the length of our skirts, we graze
and escape only by making a magic sign
birds followed us all the way and they were quiet
we’re a young male, innocently
we’re already happening
the lisp of the pines is a many-sided sound
in many ways innocently but innocently

Nothing Strange
06:10
|
|||
all, every dear
dear golden
all agreements of only one
all beloved agreements still
a boat made of wrong
a huge friendship
huge Opel
huge regulations
little friend not colonel
nothing strange nothing strange
a sense of a large tooth
that shouldn’t even be here
golden how
dear golden
it is also to stand
it is also friendly
the gold weight light
and warm
and share the common swift
a golden engine
a golden mood
on the good
piece of smiling gold
a day
as golden as
that it is such
by various
and sweet warm
sea with stomach
full and mounting in that eternal
honey and gold
cooperation
long lines of rays are poured down soft
and lightning steeped hands
all, everyone and a huge peaceful
peace and peace and peace
nests are empty
bees grow when flying
everything
honey-colored lights
honey-colored gestures
everything

Not Only Ours
04:28
|
|||
There’s an intimacy in any abuse
like we’re not only ours
a gravity between wound and blow
like we’re not only ours
an extravagant attention, an extravagant distraction
an uneasy tenderness and such pleasures
in getting it and losing it
like we’re not only ours
we rub our cheek against some river, that’s how
we laugh at our humiliation
like we’re not only ours
our certain and specific feet on a porch
aw these terrible and terrific gifts
and how we’re so certain and specific about it
like we’re not only ours
we couldn’t have done it without doing it
also, you know, that question, well whose then, if not only ours
isn´t it that, you know, some answers lie within a question
helpless hips, helpless wisdom
in a green, impossibly detailed air
impossible really, touched impossibly
like we’re not only ours
